New Generator Assures Brunei Of
More Reliable Electric Power

Bandar Seri
Begawan - The new 100-megawatt generator at the Gadong Power
Station is now complete.
The additional generator is part of
Gadong Power Station 1 replacement and construction project.
The approximately $170.6 million
project is funded under the 8th National Development Plan budget
allocation.
Under the agreement, the works cover
three major constituencies of the power station, transmission lines
and substation works.
Project implementation started on
February 1, 2001 and took an overall construction period of 24 months.
The prime objective of the project is
to replace the existing generation capacity at the Gadong Power
Station 1 to provide an alternative, more reliable high-capacity and
rigid transmission line systems. The construction varies 66-kilo volt
