Othman in Tutong will be holding a forum on Mass Communications
for A-Level students on March 6. It will be held at the school's
multipurpose hall from 9 am to 11.30 am.

(News), Awg. Malai Hassan Haji Malai Othman has been invited as
one of the keynote speakers to present a talk on "The Role
of Newspapers in Brunei Darussalam."
The main objectives of the
forum is to help the student community understand the important
role media holds in society.
The forum would also stress on
the importance of journalistic writing / critical thinking and
to clear any "myths and misunderstandings" of
journalistic accountability as well as to offer hope and a
possible future for young writers.
According to the school, the
format of the forum will begin with an official declaration of
opening by Dyg. Apsah Bte Haji Abdul Majid, the Director of
Schools and short addresses by three other keynote speakers, Awg.
Haji Bujang Bin Haji Mas'uut, Director of Information
Department, Awg. Haji Johari Bin Achee of RTB and Awg. Musa
Mohiddin of Information Department.
The moderator at the event will
be the Director of British Council, Mrs. Amanda Griffths.
The keynote speeches will then
be followed by an open forum discussion, where attendees and
students will be able to ask the panel questions.
