As St Angela's School in Seria
prepares to celebrate its 45th anniversary on August 16, the
school has organised a number of activities, which will be
carried out throughout the year.
Yesterday, the school of 400
primary and secondary students conducted a cleaning spree in an
effort to give the school's image a face-lift and maintain
cleanliness in classrooms as well as its surrounding.
The theme for the upcoming
anniversary celebration will be "Celebrating 45 Years of
Dedicated Caring Service to the Community," said Deputy
Principle Miss Chea Wann Ching.
"In line with the
theme," she continued: "The school is making efforts
to conduct exciting activities in a form of community service,
academic and extra curriculum throughout the year."
Last Saturday, the students did
the school proud after a successful cleaning campaign at the
Anduki Park in Lumut.
The school recently organised a
field trip to the Oil and Gas Discovery Centre (OGDC) and a
Science Camp at the school's compound. The Science Camp was
further keyed up with a guest speaker from Curtin University of
Miri, Malaysia to present a talk on "Critical Thinking
Skills". The school is also planning to hold an all-girl's
basketball interschool tournament.
For its 45th anniversary
celebration, the school will extend its invitation to the former
school principle, teachers as well as former students.
