Lower six students during their orientation.
Maktab Duli Pengiran Muda Al-Muhtadee
Billah opened their doors to new lower six students on February
26, 2003. The new intake underwent a two-day orientation, which
will help them get familiar with school personnel, school
regulations, the campus and their fellow seniors.
The orientation's main aims are
to inculcate a sense of belonging and to expose the students to
their new environment and culture within the college premises.
The orientation started off with the National Anthem followed by
the college's official song and a family song performed by the
college's choir club. The doa was then read by a student from
the religious prefectorial board.
The Principal of the college
gave an opening speech, where he congratulated the students in
being accepted to study at Maktab Duli. He went on to brief the
students on the college's philosophy, vision and goals. He
stressed that playing a proactive role during the duration of
their studies will be their gateway to success.
The highlight of the
orientation was the recital of the students' pledge by the 648
new lower six students led by the head boy (2002-2003), Mohd.
Shahminan. The orientation ends on February 27, with a cultural
performance to be presented by the 2002-2003 prefects, thus
marking the start of a new academic life for the new lower six
students.
