Three teens and a local youth await sentence

By Rol Ezam

Magistrate Lailatul Zubaidah will pass her sentencing on the three teens aged 15, 16, and 17 and a 22-year-old local man this Monday (March 3) after the prosecution applied for an adjournment of the case yesterday.

Pending the date of sentencing, Magistrate Lailatul released the 22-year-old man, Mohammad Daney Suhaidi and the 17-year-old boy on $2,000 court bail or one surety each while the 16- and 17-year-old boys' bail was extended.

Besides committing several offences related to theft, the 17-year-old Malaysian is also waiting his sentence after he pleaded guilty to one Immigration charge of remaining unlawfully in the country.

All four pleaded guilty to theft related charges yesterday, which they committed on different dates and time. The four were charged separately.

However, Mohammad Daney pleaded not guilty to one of the car theft charges, which he allegedly committed with the 17- and 15-year-old boy. Due to that plea, the prosecution will be calling in about 6 witnesses for the trial day on April 3 and 5.
