| His Majesty the
Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam coined a new
phrase to give Brunei-Singapore ties a personal touch.
At the State Banquet hosted by
the president of Singapore in honour of Their Majesties, His
Majesty said, 'exchange of visits' is the term our officials use
to describe the process of our people working together in all
aspects of regional and international cooperation.
"I prefer a more personal
one.
"It is the one all good
neighbours use when meeting each other," His Majesty told
the Singaporean president.
"Come and see us any time.
You are always welcome. In the case of our friends and
colleagues from Singapore, Mr President, I assure you it is a
heartfelt invitation," said His Majesty.
