Bandar Seri Begawan - The Communications Ministry and the Authority for the Info-Communications Technology (IT) Industry of Brunei will jointly host the International Info-Communications Expo and Seminar scheduled for May 17 to 19, 2003 at the International Convention Centre in Berakas.

This is the first three-in-one Telecommunications and Broadcasting Business event in Brunei.

It will also be the largest of its kind as it is scheduled between the Palsy and Regulatory Forum and technical workshop on Numbering an Internet Dominant Name (IDN) of the Asia-Pacific Tele-community and industry umbrella organisation.

The Palsy and Regulatory Forum takes place on May 14 to 17 and the workshop on May 19 to 22.

In a media conference, the Telecommunications Director Awang Buntar in his capacity as the Chief Executive Officer of the IT and Chairman of the Info-Communications Expo organising committee said that the expo serves as the highlight of the weeklong courses of the Asia-Pacific Tele-community Government and Corporate members from 32 states and countries from the Asia-Pacific who are expected to be represented in Brunei for these events.

It is therefore a very informative showcase of the regions' best in communications, IT and broadcasting.

In support of its theme, 'Technologies of a digital world', exhibit profiles will reflect products and services in the three major sectors of few specific examples which include wireless technology, broadband, e-government services, business solutions and software, mobile computing, internet applications and satellite communications.

To complement the expo as main event, a multi-track seminar to enhance technical and management knowledge of about 300 delegates will also be staged at the same venue.

Invited speakers represent governments, industry associations as well as renowned global companies.

Concurrent one-on-one business matching and group networking sessions are also going to take place to facilitate trade and technology transfer.

The seminar serves as an excellent platform for those wishing to go to business with the Brunei government or any of the 32 governments represented at the international event.
