The 24 newly recruited immigration officers who have
successfully completed their three-week basic course/training,
received their certificates last Tuesday at the Immigration and
National Registration Building in Jalan Menteri Besar. It was
officiated by its Director, Awg Sa Bali Abas who also presented
the certificates.
The event began with a
welcoming speech delivered by the Assistant Director of
Immigration, Awg Ahmaddin Hj Abd Rahman who was also the
chairman at the event.
For the past three weeks, the
officers have undergone basic training, marching and honour
parades, which were conducted by personnel from the Fire
Services Department. This part of the course is important as it
strengthens their discipline and their self-belief.
The training also covered the
basics of other sections of the department such as tracing of
forge passports and passport stamping, which were conducted by
the Enforcement Section.
The recruits were also given
briefings by speakers from the department as well as from
various government departments, in an effort to educate them and
prevent them from getting involved with negative activities such
as corruption and drug trafficking. It is vital for them to look
after the credibility of the department.
The guest of honour also
presented a memorabilia and certificate to Immigration Officer
Awg Mohamed Yusof Hj Salam who was awarded as best officer as
well as certificates to best drill officers, Immigration
Officers Awg Sabirin Abd Momin and Dyg Norhafizah Hj Mohammed.
Meanwhile, course speakers and
co-ordinators, were also presented with certificates of
appreciation for their support and involvement in the course.
