Immigration officials in search of illegal immigrants made a surprise discovery in one of their raids on Tuesday night.

Operasi 'Benteras 7' saw not only the detention of four overstayers but also uncovered a makeshift distillery used for illegally making "tuak" (alcohol).

Operation Commander, Acting Assistant Director of Immigration, Tuan Jumat Haji Burut, led 30 immigration enforcement personnel in swooping on Kg Lumapas, Kg Limau Manis/ Mulaut, Kg Kilanas and Kg Selayun in Sengkurong.

In a farm hut in Kg Lumapas, the raiding party discovered a makeshift distillery used for illegally making "tuak". Several plastic containers used for storing the alcoholic drink were found under the hut.

Two Thai nationals were detained at the farm for failing to produce immigration documents.
