Plastic containers used for storing "tuak".
Immigration officials in search of
illegal immigrants made a surprise discovery in one of their
raids on Tuesday night.
Operasi 'Benteras 7' saw not
only the detention of four overstayers but also uncovered a
makeshift distillery used for illegally making "tuak"
(alcohol).
Operation Commander, Acting
Assistant Director of Immigration, Tuan Jumat Haji Burut, led 30
immigration enforcement personnel in swooping on Kg Lumapas, Kg
Limau Manis/ Mulaut, Kg Kilanas and Kg Selayun in Sengkurong.
In a farm hut in Kg Lumapas,
the raiding party discovered a makeshift distillery used for
illegally making "tuak". Several plastic containers
used for storing the alcoholic drink were found under the hut.
Two Thai nationals were
detained at the farm for failing to produce immigration
documents.
