SINGAPORE (AFP) - His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of
Brunei Darussalam is to embark on a three-day state visit to
Singapore to further strengthen bilateral ties between the two
countries, the government said Wednesday.
"This visit by the Sultan
of Brunei to Singapore affirms the close bilateral ties between
Brunei Darussalam and Singapore," the ministry of foreign
affairs said in a statement.
In his second visit to the
city-state starting Thursday, His Majesty will call on President
S.R. Nathan and hold separate meetings with Prime Minister Goh
Chok Tong and Senior Minister Lee Kuan Yew, the ministry said.
His Majesty will also visit the
Singapore Armed Forces Commando headquarters and meet with
personnel from the Royal Brunei Armed Forces on training
