Minister Lauds Charitable Works Of Takmir Committee

Bandar Seri Begawan - Religious Affairs Minister Pehin Dato Dr Ustaz Awang Haji Mohd Zain lauded the Takmir Committee of Kampong Bunut Mosque for its involvement in charitable works for Muslims worldwide.

Speaking at the Doa Keshukuran and presentation of donations to the Humanitarian Fund for the Palestinians, the minister noted the committee's relentless efforts in carrying various activities every year.

He said the committee has been involved in charitable works for the welfare of Muslim brothers not only in Brunei but also in international communities.

The mosque donated a total of $9,382.75 to the Palestinians Fund.

The money was raised through a four-day charity bazaar held last month.

The fund for the Bunut Mosque also received $5,052.25, the money being part of the proceeds from the bazaar for the Palestinian Humanitarian Fund.

Meanwhile, the Takmir Committee of the Bunut Mosque also donated $1,225 to the fund.

The Religious Affairs Minister received all donations.

The Takmir and the committee collected a total of $22,415 from the rent of stalls, registration fees for sports activities as well as donations from the general public.
