More than 1000 cars were recorded leaving for Miri.
Public holiday for Brunei's
National Day was continued onto Monday and thus, many people
took this rare opportunity to visit neighbouring countries with
their families.
There were some who left the
country earlier, as Sungai Tujuh Post Control was already packed
from Friday. According to an estimate from the Customs
Department, more than 1,200 cars were recorded to leave through
the post since early that morning.
Meanwhile, another heavy
traffic congestion was seen yesterday from the Sungai Tujuh
Control Post to Malaysian Control Post. The queue extended more
than 2 kilometres from the control post.
Customs Officials who contacted
Borneo Bulletin reported the number of cars exiting Sungai Tujuh
Control Post reached more than 1000, from the early morning
until 3 pm. The number was expected to continuously increase
until the post closed at ten.
