Retiree Gets Contributions From Ministry, Islamic Religious Council

Bandar Seri Begawan - A Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) retiree received contributions from the Islamic Religious Council yesterday.

Awang Asnan bin Sumil received more than $3,182 worth of goods for the construction of his house at Kampong Kuala Lurah.

Acting Secretary Awang Haji Abdul Wahab of the Islamic Religious Council handed over the donation to Awang Asnan.

The RBAF retiree also received $500 for his monthly basic necessities. He started receiving this in December last year and would continue to get it until December 2003.

He also received over $2,700 for his children's school expenses this year and another $750 as his family's Hari Raya gift. He also received $1,000 for his family's daily expenses from the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.

The 39-year-old Awang Asnan has 17 children all of whom are still studying.
