His Majesty Joins Residents At Keshukuran Rites

Bandar Seri Begawan - His Majesty Sultan of Brunei joined the residents of the sultanate at the Keshukuran ceremony last night held for the 19th National Day of Brunei.

On arrival at the Omar Ali Safuddien Mosque in the capital, the chairman and members of the celebration's executive committee greeted His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah.

With His Majesty were His Royal Highness Crown Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah, His Royal Highness Prince Abdul Malik and His Royal Highness Prince Abdul Mateen.

The ceremony began with the mass Magrid prayer.

Pehin Dato Awang Haji Yahya led the prayer while Pehin Dato Awang Haji Baradurin led the recitation of Sura-yassin.

State Mufti Pehin Dato Awang Haji Abdul Aziz read the Doa Keshukuran.

His Majesty also joined his subjects in performing the Ishak prayer.

The Tahlil and Doa Keshukuran ceremonies were also held in all mosques and religious halls throughout the sultanate.

This year's celebration carries the theme, 'Bangsa Berilmu Negara Maju'.

The celebration will start with a mass gathering at Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar Ali Safuddien this morning in the capital.
