Farm welcomes KACA kids
By James Kon and Ariffin Bakar

Come here, a boy calls the emu from Australia
The LTS Farm yesterday welcomed 70
special needs children from KACA and 20 children from Sengkurong
Playgroup in an adventurous and educational field trip in Kampong
Katimahar. Since the ongoing rehearsals for the National Day was in
progress, it was difficult to get transportation for the field trip.
The UBD, Pan Bright Travel Agency and ADBS offered transportation for
the children to the farm.
The group was led by Janey Gilkey,
KACA supervisor, together with her assistants and the children's
parents. The field trip aimed to stimulate the children's speech,
familiarise them with animals, and serve as an exercise.
The children were thrilled and
fascinated when they saw ducks, geese, ostrich, snakes and crocodiles.
They point out the animals they had
seen.
Although under the hot and sandy
pathway, the children were lively, energetic and curious to know more
about the animals.
The farm has a crocodile pit that
contains 1000 crocodiles, some as long as 22 feet. The LTS Farm also
fishponds and aquariums with various species of fish from around the
world.
