As part of tradition to encourage children to excel in their studies, Chinese associations across the country award certificates and "Ang Pau" annually, a ceremony that is usually held at the end of Chinese New Year.

Over 100 parents, invited guests and members of the Association of Overseas Chinese Taipei recently gathered at Sri Kamayan Restaurant, Jalan Tutong to witness the certificate presentation ceremony to outstanding students.

The guest of honour for the evening was YAM Pengiran Jaya Indera Pg.Haji Mokhtar Puteh bin Pengiran Haji Rajid, who also awarded certificates to the students.

Also present at the event were Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Kassim, the association advisor and other members of the Chinese association.

A total of 91 students received the honourable certificate and an "Ang Pau".

The president of the association, Mr Lim Tiong Tin said a certificate presentation is held every year in hopes it will encourage students to strive for greater academic achievements.
