Some 220 Italian tourists from the BETA's best dealers group who arrived in Brunei in a Royal Brunei Airlines chartered flight went home yesterday afternoon.

BETA, a top Italian manufacturer of auto parts and tools for motor industry, chose Brunei where to host its first convention because they feel it's very prestigious to be here.

And it's also the first in Brunei history that a large group of Italian tourists arrived here and received by 60 luxurious cars.

During the Italians' short visits, they were brought to the Royal Regalia Museum, a quick city tour and a glimpse of the Kampong Ayer, the "Venice of the East".

They were really happy with the trip and services provided to them by the Empire Hotel and Country Club.

Mrs. Colla Marigrazia commented it is an excellent and interesting trip. She really appreciated the two-day trip and enjoyed the beautiful scenery and the good food the country has to offer. She hopes she have another chance to come to visit Brunei again, she said.

She said Brunei could be a potential tourist's destination in Italy.

The problem is that Brunei Darussalam is still in the shadows, where not a lot of people know what the place has to offer, she said.
