Brunei Ruler Receives Five Foreign
Envoys

Begawan - His Majesty Sultan of Brunei have received letters of
appointments from five foreign envoys to the sultanate at Istana Nurul
Iman yesterday.
First to present his letter of
appointment to His Majesty was the non-resident High Commissioner of
Ghana Mr John Bentum-Williams. Mr Bentum-Williams, 64, is based in
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Second was the non-resident
Ambassador of Qatar Mr Abdullah Mohhamad Thalib. Mr Abdullah Mohhamad
Thalib, 53, is based in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Next to present his credential was
the Non-resident Ambassador of Switzerland Mr Daniel Woker. Mr Daniel
Woker, 55, is based in Singapore.
The fourth envoy was the non-resident
Ambassador of the Republic of Ireland Mr Hugh Swift. Mr Hugh Swift,
59, joined the Ireland's Foreign Affairs as the third Secretary in
1965.
The non-resident of Ambassador
Belgium Mr Philippe Kridelka was the last foreign envoy to present his
credential to His Majesty. Mr Philippe Kridelka, 42, is based in
Singapore.
After receiving the letters of
appointments, His Majesty granted separate audiences to the foreign
envoys.
Meanwhile, Brunei Foreign Affairs
Minister His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah also received in
separate audiences to the five newly appointed foreign envoys to
Brunei.
The audiences took place at the Balai
Pendahapan Bukit Kayangan in the afternoon.
