Contribute And Sponsor National Events Says Minister

Bandar Seri Begawan - Contributions by the private sector to sponsor any national event such as the Brunei National Day celebration will be noted and appreciated as a contribution to strengthen the nation building.

Culture, Youth and Sports Minister Pehin Dato Dr Awang Haji Hussain said this at the presentation of sponsorships for the 19th National Day celebration.

Pehin Hussein said it is not the size of the contribution that matters but what's important is the spirit and the awareness of the private sector towards developing the nation.

Contribution and sponsorship based on sincerity can fulfil the national agenda to be successfully implemented as plan.

Earlier, the Minister touched on the encouraging response from the private sector and that proved a strong and functional social contact between the government and the people.

At the function, Pehin Hussain as Chairman of the Executive Committee of the 19th National Day celebration received a sponsorship amounting to more than $80,000.

The sponsored items were later handed over to the Co-chairman of the Sponsorship Committee, Dato Haji Awang Abdul Hapidz.
