A notice has been erected to inform road-users on the temporary
closing of the 'Barley' Bridge.
The "Barley Bridge" of
Simpang 40, Jalan Sungai Akar in the Brunei Muara district will
be closed for all road users commencing Monday, February 17th.
The bridge serves as a connector to road-users of Simpang 40 in
Jalan Sungai Akar in order to cross a small river along that
road.
Simpang 40 of Jalan Sungai Akar
serves as an alternative route for road-users to go to Jalan
Kebangsaan Lama.
The area is home to at least
over a thousand of residents and sites for several leading
private schools.
The bridge which will be closed
for some upgrading work. As a result, parents of students of
several schools in the area can access their children's school
via alternative routes such as Simpang 396 of Jalan Kebangsaan
Lama or Simpang 548 Kampong Sungai Akar as the bridge will be
closed for a period of one month.
Residents in the area as well
as parents are advised to take alternative routes especially
those whose children are going to Stella's School and Sekolah
PGGMB Sungai Akar as the Barley Bridge is a popular route chosen
by parents when sending off their children to these schools.
