No Foul Play In Man's Death

Bandar Seri Begawan - A verdict of death due to industrial accident was passed by Chief Magistrate Dk Rostaina Pg Hj Duraman in a case where a 23-year-old Malaysian fell from a building under construction.

He was later pronounced dead by a doctor.

Vincent Ak Suing was about to fix a missing tile at the end of a slippery roof of a house at Lot 19-20 in Kg Salar in the Brunei capital when he tried to reach a hand drill and lost his balance and fell on February 1, 1977 at 8.20 am, the court heard.

Chau Jun Vui who happened to be nearby rushed Vincent to the hospital on seeing he was still moving and his mouth covered with blood.

A doctor on standby at the RIPAS Hospital later pronounced Vincent dead at 9 am on the same day.

The police were informed about the death and they, through investigating officers Inspector Lim Hock Siong and Sergeant 68 Kamaruddin Pungut preceded to investigate.

They were satisfied with their findings that Vincent's death was not caused by foul play.

An autopsy was carried out on the deceased and crania-cerebral injuries were discovered on the deceased's body. (Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin)
