Royal Brunei Airlines Gets A New Acting Chairman

Bandar Seri Begawan - Dato Haji Hazair bin Haji Abdullah is the new Acting Chairman of Royal Brunei Airline (RBA) Board of Directors, a Prime Minister's Office announcement said today.

Dato Haji Hazair, who is also Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister's Office who was RBA Board's Deputy Chairman, takes over from Pehin Dato Haji Yahaya who now heads the Brunei Investment Agency.

The Prime Minister's Office announcement said:

"By command of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar Ali Safuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, the Prime Minister's Office hereby announces that the appointment of Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Utama Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Yahya bin Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka Haji Bakar, Permanent Secretary, Prime Minister's Office as the Acting Chairman of the Brunei Investment Agency (BIA), His Majesty has consented to the appointment of Yang Mulia Dato Paduka Awang Haji Hazair bin Haji Abdullah, Permanent Secretary, Prime Minister's Office and Deputy Chairman of Royal Brunei Airlines as Acting Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Royal Brunei Airlines and its subsidiary companies such as the Royal Brunei Catering Pte Ltd; Mulaut Abattoir Pte Ltd; RBA Golf Club Pte Ltd and others with effect from Saturday 6th Zulhijjah 1423 corresponding to 8th February 2003.

"His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam also consented the appointment of Yang Mulia Pengiran Haji Abdul Hamid bin Pengiran Haji Mohd Yassin, Permanent Secretary, Prime Minister's Office as a new member of the Board of Directors of the Royal Brunei Airlines with effect from Saturday 6th Zulhijjah 1423 corresponding to 8th February 2003."
