A four-member delegation led by
Awang Haji Ismail, the Chairman of Transpower Corporation, who
is also the Event Manager of the International
Infocommunications Technology Expo and Seminar, departed to
Jakarta, Indonesia on Jan 19 till 21, 2003.
The delegates included Mr
Rasidi Hj Osman, Mr Jefri Mohamed and Mr Andrew Dy who were
members of the organising committee.
The Director of Information
Technology at DG Postel in Indonesia, Mr Azhar Hasyim welcomed
the initiative and expressed that as the industry regulator,
they put high priority on industry events which act as a
catalysts for networking and information exchange.
He also expressed his support
to the Expo and pledged to convey the opportunity and encourage
Indonesia's key operators like PT Telkom, PT Satelindo and PT
Indosat to take up corporate booths at the Infocomtech Expo with
the aim of highlighting Indonesia capabilities in
telecommunication.
During their meetings with Mr
Nano Sungkono, the Executive Director of ASPILUKI and Mr Gunawan
Rianto, the Vice president of ASPILUKI, the delegates gained
valuable knowledge and insight on how to approach various
industry associations.
From Jakarta, the delegation
moved on to Singapore to do a third follow-up on Jan 22 with the
Infocomm Development Authority (IDA Singapore) and the Singapore
IT Federation. The Transpower delegates will also present an
incentive package to attract exhibitors to the Singapore
Pavillion at the Infocomtech Expo.
