The Brunei Shell marketing
Company Sdn Bhd (BSM) yesterday received a safety award for 1
million man-hours worked without LTI (Lost Time Injury),
achieved by the company and its contractors in 2002.
It is learnt that this is a
very important occasion for BSM because this is the first time
they have achieved 1 million man-hours worked without LTI safety
award.
Dato Sri Lim Haw Kuang, the
president of Shell Oil Products East, presented a safety award
plaque to BSM's Managing Director, Pg Hj Yasmin bin Pg Hj
Mohammad, in a ceremony at the company's head office in Bandar
Seri Begawan. Dato Sri Lim also visited BSM's facilities and
operations in Brunei and several land-based and riverine fuel
stations, and the company's depot in Muara. He also made
courtesy calls on the Deputy Minister of Finance, Dato Paduka Hj
Yakup bin Abu Bakar, in his capacity as the Chairman of BSM
Board of Directors, and the Director of the Petroleum Unit at
the Prime Minister's Office, Awang Alias bin Hj Yusof.

said BSM was proud to have achieved such a milestone in safety.
He thanked all BSM staff and contractors for their commitment to
preventing accidents and personal injuries in the business, and
especially the road tanker drivers for their safety awareness on
Brunei's public roads.
In addition to the safety award
plaque presentation, the company's contractors also received
certificates of appreciation, which were also presented by Dato
Sri Lim Hua Kwang yesterday morning.
Safety, said Pg Hj Yasmin, was
integral to BSM whose very mission was to serve the nation by
fulfilling the nation's everyday fuel and energy needs through
the supply and sales of mainly vehicle fuels, cooking gas (LPG),
engine lubricants and jet fuel.
