Brunei Shell holds ‘Timeout for Safety' talk

By Ariffin Bakar

The IMO/3 Brunei Shell Co Sdn Bhd will be having a talk on 'Timeout for safety' on February 13 at the IMO Office, Basement N Block. This talk is organised for IMO Contractors and will be held at 10 am.

The talk will discuss current safety performance and safety concerns in a contractor's work area as well as what they have learnt from recent incidents and on deciding how contractors can contribute to a reverse decline in performance.

In 2002, IMO has recorded 48 injuries to BSP and Contractor staff. Seventeen were lost work cases, 15 restricted work and 16 required medical treatment. However since January 9, they have recorded three injury cases, all of which were recorded and effected their safety performance. Almost all injuries occurred while doing routine work activities.
