Showing The Flag For National Day

Bandar Seri Begawan - The hoisting of the national flag ceremony will serve as a curtain raiser to highlight this year's 19th National Day celebration.

In a press conference yesterday, the Permanent Secretary at the Culture, Youth and Sports Ministry Dato Awang Haji Dani said the hoisting of the 24x12 feet flag is a symbol of unity among the people.

The ceremony will be held today at an open area near the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Foundation Complex in Bandar Seri Begawan.

The flag ceremony will be followed by similar ceremonies in Kuala Belait, Tutong and Temburong.

Today, we will also see the distribution of small sized national flags to the three districts by convoys from the capital.

Several roads in the capital will be closed during the ceremony and some parking areas have been allocated for participants and guests.

The roads are Jalan Elizabeth II, Jalan Pemancha, Jalan Roberts and part of Jalan Pretty.

The closure is to ensure the smooth flow of vehicles participating in the convoy.

Meanwhile, the public who wish to witness the ceremony are advised to park their vehicles at proper parking areas.

The convoys to Tutong and Belait Districts will take the old route to their respective districts.
