Goodwill Convoy For National Day Joy

Bandar Seri Begawan - Some 20,000 miniature national flags and posters will be distributed simultaneously in three districts after the flag hoisting ceremony of the national flag in the Brunei capital in conjunction with the 19th anniversary of the National Day celebration.

The celebration will be held on Sunday at the open parking area of the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Foundation in the capital.

The final rehearsal of the flag hoisting ceremony was held yesterday.

Present to witness the ceremony was the Culture, Youth and Sports Minister Pehin Dato Dr Awang Haji Hussain.

Nearly 60 students, government employees, members of uniformed bodies, non-government organisations, the private sector and 16 personnel of the Royal Brunei Navy will take part in the ceremony.

One highlight of the celebration is a mass convoy of motor vehicles carrying the national flags.

The goodwill convoy will start from the capital soon after the ceremony with representatives from Tutong, Belait and Temburong Districts received the small flags.

The convoy will then proceed to the Tutong and Belait Districts while a mass convoy of motorboats will take the flags from Bandar Seri Begawan to the Temburong Districts.
