Innovative exercises at Slimline Fitness Centre

Exercising away… Hawaiian style

Slimline Fitness Centre of Pengkalan Gadong has recently introduced a range of aerobic classes to cater to the varying needs of women in the country.

Mary Rose, a specialised instructress, who owns the fitness centre, explained that the classes are choreographed and would require a high level of coordination skills.

Martial arts, kickboxing, Hawaiian, Hip-hop, Funk and Jazz are just some of the aerobic styles the centre currently have to offer, she explained. “A variety of equipment-based workouts are also available.”

“The benefits of aerobics include increased cardiopulmonary efficiency, strengthened heart and lungs, improved circulation, lowered cholesterol levels, and stress and anxiety reduction. “It is a strenuous form of exercise, and thorough preparation, wise choice of routines, proper equipment, and consideration of floor surfaces are essential to avoid injury,” she explained.
