A famed nasyid group from Malaysia, Hijjaz is expected to arrive early this morning for a guest appearance in the Tausheh competition on Saturday night at Dewan Raya Radio Television Brunei (RTB).

Its appearance is made possible by a sponsor, De Hayat Home Products (Parador), Pengkalan Gadong.

It is set to appear for RTB’s live breakfast programme, Rampai Pagi at 9 am this morning. After performing Friday prayers, the group will go to the studio for rehearsal and sound check in the afternoon and evening.

They will be undergoing radio interviews for Radio Brunei’s three channels – Nasional, Nur Islam and Pelangi – on Saturday at 9 am.

The group will stay at the Centrepoint Hotel in Gadong until their return to Kuala Lumpur on Sunday morning.

Hijjaz was left with three members after the untimely death of Md Salleh recently. A new member has been recruited, Md Ariffin Ahmad to take the place of the late Md Salleh.

Formed in 1997, the group is considered to be the most active in performances. They had made more than 600 appearances including those outside Malaysia such as in Medan, Jakarta, London, Jordan, Thailand and Pakistan.

Their Brunei appearance will be the first to be done here.
