A famed nasyid group from
Malaysia, Hijjaz is expected to arrive early this morning for a
guest appearance in the Tausheh competition on Saturday night at
Dewan Raya Radio Television Brunei (RTB).
Its appearance is made possible
by a sponsor, De Hayat Home Products (Parador), Pengkalan Gadong.
It is set to appear for RTB’s
live breakfast programme, Rampai Pagi at 9 am this morning.
After performing Friday prayers, the group will go to the studio
for rehearsal and sound check in the afternoon and evening.
They will be undergoing radio
interviews for Radio Brunei’s three channels – Nasional, Nur
Islam and Pelangi – on Saturday at 9 am.
The group will stay at the
Centrepoint Hotel in Gadong until their return to Kuala Lumpur
on Sunday morning.
Hijjaz was left with three
members after the untimely death of Md Salleh recently. A new
member has been recruited, Md Ariffin Ahmad to take the place of
the late Md Salleh.
Isman Nadim, Munif and Mohd
Faizal makes up Hijjaz.
Formed in 1997, the group is
considered to be the most active in performances. They had made
more than 600 appearances including those outside Malaysia such
as in Medan, Jakarta, London, Jordan, Thailand and Pakistan.
Their Brunei appearance will be
the first to be done here.
To date they have released
seven albums which either reached platinum or gold sales.
