Dangerous ride

By Zureena Abdullah

Some parents seem oblivious to the dangers of letting their children stick their heads out of moving vehicles. The driver of the car shown above was driving at approximately 80 km/h, and appeared unconcerned that his child was leaning out the window. At such speeds unwanted incidents can easily happen that may even injure the child fatally. Children should be strapped in at all times when the vehicles are moving, and parents should ensure their offspring stay well inside the boundaries of the car even when it is stationary. Perhaps a hefty punishment can be imposed to drive home the importance of buckling up.
