Open burning facilities along Jalan Rimba
The matter on open rubbish
burning should be taken seriously, cried some concerned members
of the public.
Not only does such a way of
disposing of garbage causes an unpleasant smell, it is both
dangerous and hazardous to residents living near by.
Sadly, there are still a few
‘irresponsible’ individuals that have been burning rubbish
in their own backyards.
Yesterday, road users
travelling along Jalan Rimba complained that smoke, which came
from JKR’s rubbish-colleting areas were ‘blurring their
vision on the road’.
As the rubbish were ‘burnt to
ashes’, the resultant hazardous smog irritated residents
living near by.
Some members of the public are
asking relevant authorities to seek an alternative way of
ridding rubbish.
“There has to be a way of
dealing with this ‘menacing’ health hazard,” they added.
