Fire Destroys Two Storey House At Lambak

Bandar Seri Begawan - An electrical short circuit is believed to be the main cause of a fire gutted a two-storey house at the Landless Indigenous Housing Scheme of Kampong Lambak Kiri yesterday.

The Fire Department believes that the blaze started on the first floor of the wooden house belonging to Awang Muslim bin Chuchu.

The fire destroyed the most part of the house by the time the firemen arrived at the scene 15-minutes after they received the emergency call.

According to Awang Muslim's mother, Dayang Damit at the time when the fire began she was doing the laundry while her sons were still sleeping.

The family was been living at the house for more than ten years and they could only save some electrical items.

No injuries or casualties were reported. The loss of properties due to the blaze was estimated at $85,000.
