More Fire Power For Brunei Air
Force With Zeebrugge

Bandar Seri
Begawan - The Royal Brunei Air Force now officially owns a new
air defence system known as the DZ Zeebrugge SA Rocket System
following signing of purchase documents yesterday.
The signing was between the Royal
Brunei Air Force Colonel Haji Mahmud and the Managing Director of FZ
Belgium.
The new FZ Rocket replaces the old
Sura Rocket System used since 1981. The system was purchased from
Belgium.
The weapon system is designed to
provide air-to-ground defence coverage and air support and is part of
the national air defence operations.
The selection of the FZ Rocket System
by the Air Force clearly demonstrates its confidence in the ability of
the system in enhancing both the overall mission effectiveness and the
capability of the Bullcow 105 Helicopter.
The 2.75 inch FZ Rocket is more than
10-kilogram in weight while its launcher is made of aluminium and
composite material weighing less than 30-kilograms.
It has a speed of over MAC 2 to twice
the speed of sound and has a range of more than 9-kilometres on ground
surface, 5-kilometre while on air.
FZ is a multipurpose rocket than can
be fitted to combat helicopter, jet fighter and patrol ships.
It can be fired single or at rapid
mode at one during an attack formation both at high and low altitude
in fast attack manoeuvres.
