Bike, Car Collision Kills Youth On The Spot

Bandar Seri Begawan - A 21-year-old local youth died in a tragic road accident yesterday evening when the bike he was riding pillion collided with a saloon car at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas.

According to eyewitnesses, two young men were seen doing several rounds on a motorbike along the road facing the International Convention Centre (ICC).

The bike crashed into the back of the saloon car, which sent the pillion hurtling over the car and land head first on the road, said an eyewitness and added, the victim was not wearing a helmet at the time of the mishap.

The car driver, eyewitnesses said, stopped to see what knocked the vehicle and were shocked to find a man lying motionless some feet away in front of his car while a few feet behind were the rider and the badly damaged motorbike.

The victim, identified as Md Zambri Razali, reportedly died on the spot.

The bike rider, who according to an eyewitness was wearing a helmet, survived the crash and was rushed to the RIPAS Hospital. He has been warded at the Surgical ICU Unit.
