Muslims in the country are now
busy preparing for the upcoming qurban (sacrifice).
Brunei’s local slaughter
house, Mulaut Abattoir Sdn Bhd stated that a total of 400
buffaloes, 500 cattle and 500 goats will be available to meet
consumer demands.
Responses from members of the
public were encouraging and prices of livestock consistent.
The slaughterhouse is currently
undergoing renovations, and to speed up the extension of the
floor for slaughtering, Mr Geoffrey, a consultant from Meat
& Livestock of Australia, will be supervising the
construction.
Most of the personnel from
Mulaut Abattoir Sdn Bhd have been trained in Australia to master
their butchering skills.
The slaughterhouse operates in
strict accordance with the requirements of Islamic Laws.
