A fireman “treating” a boy in the fire drill

Fire engines at St Angela’s School
St. Angela’s School held a
surprise fire drill on 30th January 2003 to prepare students for
such an emergency.
The students were curious when
they smelled strong fumes coming from one of the rooms.
The school bell rang longer
than usual and teachers quickly ushered students out of the
classrooms. The students were taken to safe ground.
The Fire Department in Seria
sent firemen to the scene.
An ambulance also arrived.
The firemen discovered that two
students were “trapped” inside the room where the fire
started.
They rescued them,
“treated” them for minor smoke inhalation, while the other
firefighters put out the fire.
It was only later that the
students were informed that it was just a fire drill.
