A total of 117 mosque committee members in the Temburong district attended a gathering between mosque committee members from the seven mosques and prayer halls ( Balai Ibadat ) in the district. The function was held recently at the Masjid Utama Pengiran Mohammad Salleh in Bangar town.

It was organised by the Religious Affairs Department with the cooperation of the Mosque Affairs Department in the district, which aims to foster close relationships among mosque and prayer hall committee members.

The chief guest at the function was Acting Temburong District Officer, Awg Haji Md Yussop bin Bakar.

In his speech he urged all appointed mosque committee members to play a more active role in order to achieve a successful programme for the mosque by organising various activities such as youth workshops, Maulud Nabi Celebrations and other activities related to the mosque.

He also urged members of the mosque committee to have a close rapport with the Imams in respective mosques in order to forge better commitment towards mosque-related activities.

The highlight of the function was the reading of Al-Quran by Ustaz Muslih Sugianto. The function ended with the presentation of a souvenir to the chief guest by Awg Haji Emran Haji Sabut, Head Religious Officer in the Temburong District.
