It Is All Flags For Brunei's National Day

Bandar Seri Begawan - The official hoisting of the huge national flag in conjunction with the 19th National Day is to be held on Sunday.

The ceremony will take place next to the open parking area of the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Foundation in Bandar Seri Begawan to coincide with the presentation of 20,000 small national flags to the people of Brunei.

The Committee of the Small Flags held a briefing yesterday.

The Chairman of the committee Dato Haji Abdul Hafiz told representatives of government agencies and private sectors who attended the briefing that the procession of vehicles and motorcycles carrying the small flags would be held on the same day.

Installation of the small flags on vehicles in the sultanate is part of the activities to highlight the National Day celebration as well as to motivate patriotism among the community.

The procession to start up to the presentation of the small flags will use several roads in Bandar Seri Begawan and will also go to Brunei's three other districts including Temburong by river for the handover of the small flags.

Several roads in the capital will be closed this Sunday morning beginning 7.30am.

The roads affected are Jalan Pemancha, Jalan Pretty, Jalan Roberts and Jalan Elizabeth 2.
