Man Awaits Fate For Alleged Thefts

Bandar Seri Begawan - A 40-year-old local man, Nasir Jalil will be brought before the court again today for alleged theft charges. Yesterday the Police Prosecutor applied for him to be remanded because of incomplete investigations.

No plea was taken against him. Nasir is facing two theft charges for allegedly stealing two pieces of cushion and a trolley from house No 9 in Jalan Telanai earlier this year.

For the second charge, he allegedly committed theft of two air conditioners belonging to the Nursing Hostel at RIPAS. He committed the offence sometimes between July to October two years ago.

The Police Prosecutor told the court that Nasir was arrested on the January 31 at 10.15 pm by CID Bandar officers.

The Police Prosecutor said Nasir would be jointly charged with his accomplice, Al Ahmad for a charge of stealing a motor vehicle.

As no action was taken against him yesterday, Nasir was back in remand at the Central Police Station before he appeared in court at 2.30 pm with his accomplice.
