Malaysian Fined For Illegal Entry
By Rol Ezam

Bandar Seri Begawan - A self-employed Malaysian who failed to report and produce his passport to the Immigration Officer upon his arrival in the country, was yesterday fined $800 or a month in jail.

The 36-year-old man Peter Bina Tai was stopped by two police officers who were on duty two days ago, on suspicion of being an illegal immigrant, the Immigration Prosecuting officer Hjh Mastura Razali said.

The next day, the defendant's case was transferred to the Enforcement Division for further investigations, which later revealed that he had departed from Lawas by driving a car through Labu Control Post. However, he had failed to get an arrival clearance and managed to enter Brunei unlawfully.
