Brunei Darussalam is set to
host the Congress of Southeast Asian Librarians (CONSAL) XII
conference to be held here from May 4 - 8 at the International
Convention Centre (ICC) in Berakas.
Yesterday morning, members of
the CONSAL XII Conference Organising Committee went visited the
ICC and finalised preparations and arrangement for the
conference.
The conference entitled
“Information Resources Empowerment: Enhancing Knowledge
Heritage” is organised by the Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP),
Brunei Darussalam in co-operation with the Brunei Darussalam
Library Association, supported by the CONSAL Secretariat,
Singapore and Ministry of Culture Youth and Sports, Brunei
Darussalam.
All librarians, knowledge
managers, information and reading specialists, information
providers, professionals, academicians, archivists, cultural
experts, book vendors, researchers and government officials as
well as interested public are invited to attend the conference.
Participants from ASEAN/CONSAL
member countries that registered before March 1 will be charged
US$150 each, while those from non-ASEAN region would be charged
US$250 each.
Registration after March 1 will
be charged US$200 each for participants from ASEAN/CONSAL member
countries and US$300 for a participant from the non-ASEAN
region.
Group registration of more than
20 participants will be given a 10 per cent discount.
The fee includes conference
kit, all meals, pre-conference workshop, library visits,
welcoming dinner and conference shuttle to and from the
conference venue.
