In order to become a top
Immigration officers, the new employees must possess excellent
character in executing the job and daily responsibilities other
than having an indepth knowledge particularly of Immigration
Acts and Rules, as well as Passport Acts and Rules.

Bali bin Abas said during a speech at the launching ceremony of
the basic course for the new immigration officers, character
means to be always courteous, caring, responsible, friendly,
honest, trustworthy, firm and always respectful towards members
of the public who have dealings with the department while always
obeying instructions that are given by their superiors
Awg Sa Bali also said that the
department is always visited by members of the public, not only
the locals but also the foreign visitors.
“From these foreigners who
are coming in and staying temporarily in the country, other than
ordinary workers or visitors, there are also businessmen and
investors,” he said.
