More Added Bus Services Soon
Bandar Seri
Begawan - Brunei can expect new developments in the Brunei,
Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines East Asean Growth Area (Bimp-Eaga)
Memorandum of Understanding on cross-border movement of commercial
buses and coaches as Tenaga Travel has announced that they will add
more services yesterday.

Hj Thani Hj
Abd Hamid, managing director of Tenaga Travel, outlined some
of the developments, beginning with the buses traveling to
Pontianak to start operating on a daily basis January next
year, as well as cutting the costs from $85 to $80.
He added that majority of
the passengers are workers from the Tutong oil site digging,
amounting to about 1,300 people.
This was due to the fact
that they only have the work permit for a period of six
months, and often opts for cheaper fares for travelling.
The travel agency will also
expand their services |
|
by providing passenger
vessels and vehicle/ passenger vessels (KM Nusantara and
KM Mabuhai Nusantara respectively) for passengers who
want to travel beyond Pontianak. |
"It will be good for our locals who
are interested in travelling around various countries such as Bali
and Surabaya," said Hj Thani.
Currently, the letter of
appointment for the expansion is still waiting to be received by the
travel agency to commence their operations. In addition, the bus
mute licence to Kota Kinabalu is also being finalised, as the permit
for operation is expected to start in March.
For the convenience of Belait and
Seria customers, Hj Thani said they can get their tickets from
Mumong and will be picked up by the bus from Bandar Seri Begawan to
Pontianak.
