Seminars At SEAMEO VOCTECH

Begawan - The "EMS: The Brunei Perspective" seminar will be
held on January 12, 2009, while the "EMS: A Business Initiative"
seminar will take plaCe from January 13-14, 2009 at the SEAMED
VOCTECH Regional Centre, Brunei Darussalam.

The centre's
Officer-in-Charge, Dr Paryono, Deputy Director for
Professional, announced that environmental officers,
researchers, industry/business leaders/officers, school
administrators, teachers and student leaders are expected to
attend the seminars.
The Japanese Government in
coordination with the Japanese Embassy in Brunei Darussalam
and SEAMED VOCTECH is sponsoring the seminars.
Two related EMS programmes
have already been held - a two-week training course for 22
Southeast Asian lecturers and researchers from November
6-11, 2006 organised in collaboration with the Jefri Bolkiah
College of Engineering, Kuala |

Belait and a two-day EMS
seminar at the centre attended by 50 government/private
institution officers from February, 26-27 2008.
The upcoming EMS
seminars will highlight the prevention and reduction of
environmental risks, including compliance problems;
improvement of environmental performance and increase in
efficiency by reducing costs, saving energy and
resources; and improvement of image with the public,
leaders and even investors of an organisation. |
SEAMED VOCTECH has sent invitation
letters to government offices, industrial/business firms and
schools. Due to limited seats, the seminars will accommodate
participants based on nomination forms. The centre hopes to receive
these forms on or before the deadline December 27, 2008 via fax
