Bandar Seri Begawan - Chevening Alumni Brunei recently organised the first `UK & Me 2008' short-story competition.

DST Group of Companies was the main sponsor of the event, while HSBC sponsored cash prizes for the winners.

The winner for this year's event was Nurnajibah bte Mainol from Ahmad Tajuddin Primary School, Kuala Belait with her story entitled 'Science Fiction'.

First runner-up was Nur Sabrina Rahayu bte Hj Abd Rahman from Mentiri Primary School with her exciting story entitled, 'The Lemon Tree', and second runner up was Noorhafizah bte Harun.

Chevening Alumni Brunei hopes that more entries will be received for 'UK & Me 2009'.

In the near future, Chevening Alumni Brunei will also be organising an annual dinner for all Chevening alumnus and associate members and a golf tournament. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
