UBD To Host Conference On Business And Management

Bandar Seri Begawan - Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) will be hosting an international Conference on Business and Management organised by its Faculty of Business, Economic and Policy Studies on January 8-9, 2008.

The conference will provide updated information and knowledge on new and improved products and services and the search for and development of new forms of business operations and management.

Participants are also hoped will benefit from the experts' and academics' experiences on various issues related to the theme of the conference, "Creating Competitive Advantage in the Global Economy”,

Topics and issues discussed will be very useful for business owners, consultants, academics, policy makers, researchers, trainers, educators, practitioners and for those with a keen interest in recent development in business and management.

On the first day of the conference, a keynote address will be delivered by Dato Paduka Hj Hamdillah Hj Abdul Wahab, the deputy minister of the Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources.

It will be followed by several parallel sessions on Managing Information technology (IT), e-commerce/e-business/ e-government, small and medium enterprises and entrepreneurship, marketing strategies, leadership and change ninnaf'enucnf.

About 30 working papers are expected to be presented on the first day.

The conference's second day will present a keynote address by Dato Paduka Timothy Ong, the acting chairman of the Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB).

A total of 24 papers will be tabled where speakers will talk on a range of topics which include Marketing Strategies, Knowledge and Human Capital Management, Corporate Governances and Ethic, Operation, Logistics and Quality Management, Halal Hub and Tourism and Hospitality Management.
