Trust Fund Donates To Schoolchildren, Families

Bandar Seri Begawan - Some 17 heads of families representing 74 pupils and students received donations from the School Children's Sponsorship Trust Fund (TBTKKS), in a ceremony held at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports building at Jalan Kebangsaan, yesterday.

The guest of honour at the ceremony was Datin Hjh Adina bte Othman, Director of Community Development, Ministry of Culture Youth and Sports.

The TBTKKS was established with the aim of helping pupils and students whose families have difficulty in buying their children's school materials. The donations to the heads of families were in the form of cash, while some school materials were given to the children.

A total cash donation of B$6,400.00 was given to the children, of which primary school students each received $100, and secondary school students, $150. The guest of honour was on hand to present the donations. Also present to witness the ceremony were senior government officers, officers and staff from the Community Development Department and some invited guests.

The chairman of TBTKKS in his speech urged donors and members of the public to assist the family who are in financial difficulty. The donors intending to contribute to the families can send their donations to "Tabung Amanah Tajaan Kanak-Kanak
