Donations Pour In For Heart
Patient's Surgery

Begawan - A patient suffering from a heart disease and
needing $30,000 for his surgery yesterday received a cash donations
amounting to $23,750 from kind-hearted individuals led by Pehin
Kapitan Lela DiRaja Dato Paduka Goh King Chin, Managing Director of
Goh Hock Kee Motors Sdn Bhd.
Forty-two year-old Lim Chong, the
patient who experienced the generosities of the Bruneian public, is
a permanent resident in the country.
Being a permanent resident, he is
not eligible for the country's free medical service. Financial
problems also prevented, him from undergoing the surge.
Lim has two young children and has
been with the Royal Brunei Police Force for the last 19 years as a
maintenance worker for the Police golf club located in the capital.
His father used to work for Pehin Dato Gob's late father for many
years as a shop assistant in the late 1950s.
He received a cash donation from
Pehin Goh amounting to $23,750 yesterday for his lifesaving surgery.
Other magnanimous people like the
members of the Tutong Chung Hwa School Ex-student Association who
are giving $3,250 and the Royal Brunei Police Force with their
contributions amounting to $3,000 are doing their part to save the
life of this public servant and family man. "Its has been like a new
year's gift for me receiving the donations and it was unexpected for
us," said Lim.
The ceremony was held at the Goh
Hock Kee Motors' premises and was witnessed by his wife and their
