Pay Tickets To Avoid Hassle
By Azrol Azmi & James Kon
Bandar Seri
Begawan - The BSB Municipal Department urged the public to
settle their parking fees on time to avoid difficulties.
The department said this in
response to a letter published in the Bulletin's Opinion Page on
December 20.
The writer of the letter commented
that parking attendants seemed to lack customer service skills and
it had been a hassle to pay previous parking tickets. BSB Municipal
Department officers said the writer of the letter had not specified
how long the ticket was overdue but said they are looking into the
matter. They said parking tickets issued within seven days can be
settled at any parking booth in the capital.
However, those wishing to settle
parking tickets issued over seven days need to go to the BSB
Municipal Department counter, located on the fifth floor of its
premises. Officers said parking tickets, which are overdue are
liable for a fine under the Municipal Control Parking 5.
They added that the department has
reviewed the current settlement system for parking tickets and they
are working on a new system that will allow the public to settle
their overdue tickets at parking booths in the capital.
However, to avoid any hassle, the
department urged the public to settle any parking tickets they have
on the spot and to retain the payment receipt.
Officers added that the department
is also conducting customer service awareness briefings twice a
month for officers and staff of the department. Officers and staff
are reminded to be courteous and improve their customer service
skills. The BSB Municipal Department encouraged the public to
contact department officers at 2244151 ext 135 or 162 during office
hours, for further enquiries and information regarding parking
tickets.-- Courtesy of Borneo
