MTV To Air First Brunei Video

Bandar Seri Begawan - Following the success of his last album, singer Zul F will be premiering the music video for his latest song `Dari Mata' on the MTV Jus show's JUS Idol Special on January 1 2007 at 4pm.

Already aired on local radio stations, `Dari Mata' will be included in Zul F's upcoming album due for regional release in 2007.

Dari Mata's debut on the MTV music channel will not only put Brunei Darussalam on the music map with its fresh, unique sound - a simple yet groovy assembly of acoustic guitar, bass and jiving percussions - but also show international viewers the splendour of local scenery. Amongst the locations to be featured in the music video are Kampong Ayer and The Empire Hotel & Country Club.

Working with an almost exclusively local production team with Siti Fauziyah Kamaluddin of Origin Artistic Management Brunei as Executive Producer, the production of Dari Mata only required the "imported" expertise of Director James Teh from Melbourne, Australia, and Producer Ramya Sundrapandi from Brisbane, Australia.

Under local label Origin Artistic Brunei, the entire video production was done in Brunei. Only colour grading was done in Melbourne, Australia. All recording and mixing were also done in Brunei at Origin Artistic Brunei with the exception of mastering which was done in Germany. Local lyricist Ridwan also wrote the music and lyrics.

Director James Teh, who has a Bachelors Degree in Film and Television from Victoria College of Arts and Bachelors Degree in Visual and Permanent Art from Melbourne University, Australia quickly got into the filming scene with his distinctive photographic eye, which viewers are certain to notice in the Dari Mata video. On working with Zul F, James Teh said, "He's got a lot of guts. We shot at the night market and he sang his heart out. He's charismatic in front of the camera. He's focused and talented. With a lot of publicity, he should go very far."

"This is the most relaxed video I've ever made! Everyone's easy going and made everything right, Jeff, Adek, Riz were brilliant and Brian was very hospitable. Everyone was calm on set. It's a pleasant Brunei cultural aspect," James Teh commented on working with a local team.
